Source Code - Open or Closed?

Every Operating system has code written that makes it work. This code is either open or closed. When it is open, anyone can read the code to see what it is doing and why. If the code is closed, no one outside of the owner's permission can see the code. No one can see what the code is doing and why. Open source is better because it is generally safer and always offers the most freedom. Closed source is not going to produce a 'digital freedom' environment.

With that said, I always search for open source operating systems which is Linux distributions. There are hundreds of Linux distributions for example Cnix, Ubuntu, PopOS, Fedora, Mint, RasberryPi, and so many more. Linux distros will never control your computer in the background while the device is hooked to the internet via wifi or ethernet. Linux will never install anything on your device without your approval. You are in total control of your device.

Give Linux a try. Take a little time per day, even just fifteen minutes a day will have you up and running in just a few weeks. It will be the most valuable thing you can do for yourself to take back control of your digital activity.
